流言的殺傷力極大，今天就來分享“流言”相關的英語表達。

關于流言蜚語，《怦然心動》里是這么說的：spread like wildfire。

wildfire字面意思是“野火”，可以用來比喻“散布極快的事物；傳播極快的事”。

spread作動詞表示“傳播，散布”。所以說，這個習語的意思就是（疾病或消息）迅速傳播開來；（消息）不脛而走。

Once one child in the school has the infection, it spreads like wildfire.

一旦學校里有一個孩子受到感染，它就會迅速傳播開來。

“散布謠言”還可以用buzz這個詞，它的動詞本意是“發嗡嗡聲；打電話”，做名詞還有“興奮；快樂”的意思。

你想想每次和朋友打電話聊八卦的時候，是不是都很興奮呢？

He buzzed the rumor everywhere.

他到處散播謠言。

所以它的意思就是“從傳聞中聽說，通過道聽途說獲悉，聽小道消息知道”。
